Hello cupcakes,
I know there are not many of you here yet, but since I was lately in some kind of writing and reading slump I figured I will go back to the roots and start a blog again. Maybe this will help me find my creativity again, maybe this will help me continue to create content over on my Tumblr, or maybe it will just be a lot of fun.
So if you are interested in following me on my path, from being a dreamer to being an actual writer feel free to come along and read the madness I am spilling from my brain right onto the page.
I will try my best in blogging regularly, I intend to do updates at least twice a month (in the beginning and maybe in the middle of each month) but since I am starting a new job next Monday I do not know if my time management will be good enough to keep up with it. I am more than determined to not have this be another thing I started but never finished.
To start I will write short updates on what I am doing, how I am doing it, and mistakes I made in the past or am currently making. This blog is dedicated to creating a place where we can help each other in our own creative spaces, give and get advice and critique, and most importantly get motivated and inspired!
So if you are a reader or a writer, I encourage you to participate, to engage, to tell me what you think of my way of doing this and maybe point out the flaws you see. We are all trying to get better at creating awesome writing (or some writing at all) and I am positive we can do that hand in hand if we just stay together.
Become part of my writing squad today by telling me something about yourself and your projects in the comments, ask any question you have about writing or me, and most of all: have fun!
First things first, though. Me. I am a 24-year-old girl, living in the middle of nowhere - and yes, English is not my first language - I spend most of my days with my dog and my friends, reading, writing, and being a huge nerd. ;)
I started writing when I was around the age of ten and I have worked on a lot of projects since then, but I only finished three in the last 14 years. I am quite proud of the countless poems I scribbled down and the two short stories I wrote, but we will never ever speak about that Vampire novel I penned when I was around 15, all right?
The biggest problem I have with finishing stuff is that I always start something because I am excited but do not consider how much time it may cost me, and then suddenly something new is more exciting than the project I am currently working on. So I switch from one story idea to the next. I always have countless story ideas but I can never decide which one is the one I will truly go through, which one deserves my attention?
I am sure many of you have the same problem, so please be so kind and tell me how you deal with too many ideas.
I for one have spent the last six months rescheduling my life and my priorities. I made more room for writing in my life so that I can actually sit down and write instead of just dreaming of my writing. And I promised myself that I would not work on more than three projects at the same time. Updates on these projects will come in the first monthly posts, so stay tuned!
The other side of me, not so serious novel writing: Three years ago I started to get into roleplaying on Tumblr, you may have found your way here from that side, so merry meet again! I spend a lot of time writing on there because I have learned some great lessons through being a part of that community and made some great friends. If you would like to hear more about why I think that rping - though many smile down upon it - can actually turn you into a better (and happier) writer.
Wow, this got quite long for a simple introduction. If you have any questions please feel free to ask them in the comments! If there is an aspect of writing or the creative process you would like to hear more about, please state them down below!
Thank you for reading so far, I hope I have not scared you away already :)
Greetings (and yes, like good old Lizzie Bennet I am still working on a sign off. Don't do Murder!)
M
